Neuropeptide
Also referred to as TP-7.
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of tuftsin, a naturally occurring tetrapeptide with immunomodulatory properties. It carries the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro, is administered intranasally, and has been registered in Russia as an anxiolytic.
The published literature is predominantly preclinical and concentrated among a small number of research groups working within Russian institutions. Human evidence is limited to a single neuroimaging study, and no randomised controlled trials have been published.
