BPC-157

Gastric Pentadecapeptide

Also referred to as Body Protection Compound 157, PL 14736.

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. It is notable among research peptides for its stability in gastric acid, which has allowed researchers to study oral as well as parenteral administration in animal models.

The published literature is dominated by pre-clinical work: rodent models of tendon, ligament, muscle and gastrointestinal injury. Human clinical data remains limited.
