Metabolic
5-Amino-1MQ
NNMT Inhibitor
Also referred to as 5-amino-1-methylquinolinium.
5-Amino-1MQ is a small-molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme involved in NAD+ metabolism and cellular energy regulation. The compound belongs to a class of methylquinolinium derivatives developed to selectively block NNMT activity.
The published evidence comes entirely from preclinical animal models and in vitro cell-line work. No human clinical trials have been reported. Research has examined the compound primarily in the context of metabolic disease, obesity, and cancer biology.
